What is iCloud?

iCloud also provides the means to wirelessly back up iOS devices directly to iCloud, instead of being reliant on manual backups to a host Mac or Windows computer using iTunes; unlike traditional backups, iCloud backups include nearly all data on the device, including purchased music, apps, books, as well as Camera Roll photos and videos.

Setting up iCloud

iCloud is a cloud-based storage service from Apple that offers users 5 GB of free storage. users can store photos, videos, music, documents, and app data on iCloud and sync them across all of their devices.

To set up iCloud, you need an Apple ID and to be signed in to the App Store, iTunes Store, or iBooks Store. You also need to have iCloud Drive turned on in your device’s Settings.

Once you’re signed in with your Apple ID, you can turn on iCloud Drive in Settings. Tap Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Drive and turn on “Use as Default Location.” With this setting turned on, any documents that you create on your device will be stored in iCloud Drive by default.

If you want to store your photos in iCloud, you need to turn on “iCloud Photo Library.” This will upload all of the photos and videos from your device to iCloud so that you can access them from any device. To turn it on, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Photos and turn on “iCloud Photo Library.” If you have a lot of photos and videos, it might take some time for them all to upload.

Once you’ve set up iCloud Drive and turned on iCloud Photo Library, your photos will be available across all of your devices.
